TGIF!

Wanted to share another of my cats of Italy photos with you today. This is one from my Cinque Terre Kitty Series. This little guy is keeping dry from the rain. He was crouching in a doorway in Monterrosso al Mare, the largest town in Cinque Terre where we stayed.

Can you find the kitty in the photo?

La Gata Flora

:: Buon Apetito! ::

This adorable sign epitomizes my impression of Italy and it’s cats. These photos were taken in the remote village of Corniglia in the Italian Cinque Terre. It’s a very high altitude town and the only one of the five coastal villages that’s not actually on the water but rather high above it atop a cliff. This sign was positioned right outside the village pizza parlor along a steep and winding cobblestone walkway. The display was immediately proven accurate when I saw a real live cat feasting away on pizza right beside the sign, chewing voraciously on a piece of tasty crust! Needless to say I found the shot totally priceless!

Cats of Pescatori

:: ANDIAMO! ::

One of my amusements while traveling is looking for cats to photograph. These kitties live on the Island Pescatori on Lake Maggiore in Italy. Pescatori is a tiny island with amazingly picturesque cobblestone streets. These little guys are especially lucky since they get endless edibles from all the tourists. There were tons of them running around, all quite friendly and all related! One thing I’ve learned in my travels around Italy is that Italians love their gatte and there are cats EVERYWHERE which make for many memorable photographs.
