Yesterday Jake & Micah had a dreaded trip to the vet. It was a trip they weren’t aware of until mommy ambushed them in a room with 2 cat carriers. Jake & Micah were feeling mighty betrayed and Micah was downright furious and let me know that the entire ride there. Micah needed his annual shots and they both ended up getting some routine blood work done. Jake’s been drinking a lot lately (He likes to play in the sink but I wonder if he’s been drinking more too, a possible sign of diabetes.) Micah has difficulty breathing sometimes (I think he could have allergies or asthma) and he’s really put on weight in the past year. Maybe it just his metabolism slowing but again I get worried about the tiniest things. It’ll take a day to get the results so keep your paws crossed that everything checks out. For those of you who have never had feline blood work done, the tests are a bit pricey indeed. But since the boys are getting a little older I thought it a good idea. Luckily for them, they have a fabulous universal health care plan called “MommaCare”.
